LiteZone® can be used in frames that are made for triple pane insulating glass.

LiteZone® insulating glass comes in various configurations in the L0365 and L0441 product groups which fit into frames used for typical 1.50" or 1.75" thick triple pane glass units. These narrower LiteZone® units can be used in new windows or as replacement insulating glass for old or failed triple pane glass units.

Some manufacturers make available window frames or curtain wall systems which will accept triple pane glass units that are up to 2.25" thick (with 0.75" instead of 0.5" gaps between glass lites).  The LiteZone
® L0379 and L0465 product groups will fit into these thicker frames.

LiteZone
® glass units that are configured to fit into standard triple pane frames will have the following advantages:
  • Achieves about the same performance as the highest  performing triple pane glass units;
  • Cost competitive because of the low cost of low-e coated films compared to the cost of low-e coated glass;
  • Weighs about 33% less to make handling easier;
  • Has 3 times the expected life of triple pane;
  • Has no concerns of loss of performance because of escaping argon gas fill.
One reason that LiteZone® achieves its extreme longevity is because it has twice the surface area for the structural connection of the glass lites to the spacer. This means the sightline of a LiteZone® glass unit is about 1" compared to 1/2" for typical conventional glass units. If desired, LiteZone Glass Inc. makes available a trim piece to cover the extra visible sightline around the edge of its glass units when the frame being used has been designed for a 1/2" sightline.
